Some people think once you accept Jesus into your life that you have to throw away your lipstick, high heels, travel plans, all sweet foods, and never laugh, sing, or dance again!
Who wants a life like that? NOT ME! I like to dance...in my high heels!
No, Jesus came so that we could LIVE!!! Your life with Christ should be an adventure! He died for us to have a rich, full, satisfying life.
John 10:10 (NLT)
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
Now, I don't want to create any confusion here: there will be some things that God will have you give up because they don't please Him. Jesus Christ now dwells within you by the Holy Spirit and He will start to reveal those things to you. He is going to lovingly convict and correct you. However, it's all for your benefit!
Have you ever remodeled a home or a room in your home? It's a painful process! Knocking out walls, pulling up carpet, dust everywhere, loud noisy tools, strange people in your house. Then when you get behind the walls, you may find stuff you were not expecting like a rat's nest (eeek!), electrical wiring that has to be repaired, plumbing that has to be redone. It's a disaster before it's beautiful.
But then one day, at the end of all of the mess and the clutter and the dust and the questioning of your sanity for even starting this whole thing....phew....you look around and everything is new and shiny and glistening. It's perfect! It's absolutely perfect!
This is what the Lord is doing with you. He is changing you into the new creature that He has promised you will become.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
Celebrate your new life! Thank Him for it! You have no idea what great things He has in store for you!
I'm praying for you! Stay encouraged!
